Boat Blouse - English

Construction:
The blouse is knitted top down. First, stitches are cast on for one of the shoulders, which is shaped by working flat while doing increases. The other shoulder is knitted in the same way. When both shoulders have been worked separately, they are joined with backwards loop cast-ons in between them. The yoke is then worked in the round, while still doing increases. The front and back of the blouse are then separated, and each part is worked flat, until the correct length for the armholes is achieved. Then the front and back are joined again, and the body is worked in the round and finished with an I-cord edge. Stitches are picked up along the neckline and the stitches are worked as an I-cord edge. Stitches are then picked up at the edge of the armhole, and a few short rows are worked to shape the sleeve. The sleeves can be made into balloon-sleeves or regular fitted sleeves, by doing either in- or decreases, both are described. The sleeves are finished off with I-cord edges as well.

Sizes:
The blouse can be knitted in 7 different sizes, XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL, corresponding to a circumference of the blouse of 95 (98) 102 (109) 116 (126) 136 cm. Before you choose which size to knit, we recommend that you measure your bust circumference or circumference at the widest area. If a regular fit is preferred, we recommend adding a positive ease of approx. 5-10 cm.

Example: if your bust circumference is 90 cm, we recommend making the blouse in size S with a positive easy of 8 cm if you want a regular fit or a size M with a positive easy of 12 cm if you want more of a loose fit.

Gauge:
18 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch.

Needles:
4.5 mm circular with 80/100 cm wire.
